Erwin tiene 26 años de experiencia en Seguridad de la Información, Análisis de Datos, Computación en la Nube, y tiene la licenciatura de Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación (Ingeniero Superior en Informática) de La Universidad de Los Andes – Colombia. Además tiene una certificación de CIPP/E, SPIN y Valueselling.
